Learn the benefits of upgrading to Windows 11.

You may already have heard, Windows 10 is heading for retirement. Microsoft will officially stop supporting Windows 10 operating system on 14 October 2025—and while that may sound a way off, the reality is: if you’re still running Windows 10, now is the time to act.

This isn’t just about avoiding problems. It’s about unlocking the full potential of your devices and giving your business the tools, speed and security it needs to thrive and remain competitive in our fast paced work environment.

Let’s take a look at what End of Service means, what the risks are if you don’t upgrade—and more importantly, why upgrading to Windows 11 is one of the smartest moves you can make for your business.

What Does End of Service Actually Mean?

On 14 October 2025, Microsoft will stop providing:

  • Security updates

  • Bug fixes

  • Technical support

Your device won’t stop working overnight, but it will become increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats, compliance issues, and software compatibility problems. Not ideal if you’re trying to protect sensitive data or keep your systems running smoothly.

The Risks of Staying on Windows 10

If you continue using Windows 10 past its End of Service date, you could face:

  • Greater risk of cyber attacks – No security patches means you’re exposed to new threats.

  • Loss of compliance – Outdated systems can breach regulations like GDPR.

  • Software compatibility issues – New applications and updates will be optimised for Windows 11.

  • Slower support – Many vendors will stop supporting Windows 10 in their products.

This isn’t just about inconvenience—it’s about risking your business’s reputation, data, and day-to-day operations.

But It’s Not Just About Avoiding Risk…

Here’s where it gets exciting. Windows 11 isn’t just a replacement—it’s a major upgrade. It’s faster, sleeker, more secure, and built for the way we work today.

Key Benefits of Windows 11:

  • A modern, intuitive interface – Cleaner visuals, a centred Start menu, and improved navigation make day-to-day tasks smoother and more enjoyable.

  • Next-level productivity tools – Snap layouts, snap groups and virtual desktops make it easier to juggle multiple tasks and stay focused.

  • Faster performance – Whether you're opening apps, booting up your device or running multiple tasks, Windows 11 is engineered to be quicker and more efficient.

  • Enhanced security – Hardware-based protection, Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, and improved ransomware defence help keep your data safe.

  • Seamless Microsoft 365 integration – Windows 11 plays beautifully with Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft apps, making hybrid working easier than ever.

  • Support for the latest tech – Whether it’s AI tools, cloud apps, or new peripherals, Windows 11 is designed to keep pace with innovation.

Put simply: Windows 11 helps your business work smarter, faster, and more securely—and gives your team the tools to do their best work.

Can Your Device Run Windows 11?

Not all machines are eligible for the upgrade, so it’s important to check. Here are the minimum specs:

  • Processor: 1GHz or faster, 2 cores or more, 64-bit

  • RAM: 4GB minimum

  • Storage: 64GB or more

  • Firmware: UEFI with Secure Boot

  • TPM: Version 2.0 required

  • Display: 9” or larger with at least 720p resolution

  • Graphics: DirectX 12 compatible

Not sure if your devices make the cut? We can carry out a quick compatibility check and advise you on the best route forward.

What If My PC Can’t Upgrade?

Don’t worry—you’ve still got options:

  1. Use extended support (Microsoft will offer paid updates for Windows 10 until 2028 for enterprise users—but that’s a short-term fix at best).

  2. Upgrade your hardware (some PCs can be updated to meet requirements).

  3. Replace outdated devices with fast, secure Windows 11-ready models—often more cost-effective than clinging to older systems.
